Nishiki-Medium Grain Rice with rice germ (Haiga) is produced by eliminating the layer of the bran from brown rice, while keeping its rice germ. Rice germ is not the germ you may think about, rather it’s the part that will eventually develop into a new plant (to germinate). This part of the plan contains most of the nutrients, such as high protein content, vitamins (B1 and B6), and fiber. Think of it as the hybrid of white rice and brown rice. It is easier to digest than brown rice, and as flavorful as white rice.
