In a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil and toss in your chopped garlic. Let that cook for a few minutes and then, throw in the shrimp. Cook for a minute or so then add in the hoisin sauce and continue cooking for another couple minutes.
You don’t want to over cook your shrimp so be mindful of the time. No more than 5 minutes in the sauce. Then, take it off the heat.
In a serving dish, lay down some chopped cabbage, then scoop the hoisin shrimp on top.
Top the shrimp with white sesame seeds. Serve with a side of brown rice if desired.
