Orange Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Cook Time: 35 Minutes

  • 1 lb chicken wings
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • ⅛ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • J-basket roasted white sesame seeds for garnish


  • ½ cup sake
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. Dynasty Fish Sauce
  • ¼ cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cup orange marmalade
  1. Cut celery into 2” pieces and smash them with the flat side of the knife. Smash the garlic with the flat side of the knife and discard the peel.
  2. In a Dutch oven, heat olive oil on medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken wings until golden brown.
  3. Add sake, water, Dynasty Fish Sauce, orange marmalade, and Kikkoman soy sauce and mix. Then add celery, garlic cloves, and bay leaf.
  4. Partially cover the pot with a lid and simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes, tossing occasionally. After 15 minutes of simmering, remove the lid, continue turning the chicken to coat it with the sauce, and cook until the sauce is reduced.
  5. When about 2 Tbsp of sauce is left, and you can see the bottom of the pot, turn off the heat. Transfer the chicken onto a plate, and pour the sauce on top. Sprinkle J-Basket roasted white sesame seeds and serve immediately.
