Sesame Ginger Bread

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

  • 1 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon JBasket roasted white sesame seeds
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon celtic salt
  • ½ cup raw honey
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
  2. Bring ½ cup water to a boil in a small pan. Take off the heat and add in the raw honey and mix that well. Add in the baking soda, mix again and then add in the rest of the water (¼ cup.) Set that aside to cool down.
  3. In another bowl add the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, sesame, cloves and mix well. Set that aside. In another bowl mix the coconut oil, brown sugar and egg and whisk that together. Then slowly add in the flour mix into that, mixing lightly. Add in all the rest of the flour mix and then finally the honey water. Whisk that all together well until smooth and a little runny.
  4. Pour that mix into the greased bread pan and bake for 40 minutes. Check the middle by stabbing the center of the loaf with a thin knife. If it’s clean, you’re good to take it out. If it still wet, keep it in for another 5-7 minutes. Remove and let cool before eating.
