Sesame Oil Cake

Sesame Oil Cake:

  • 1¼ cup flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup milk, room temperature
  • 6 Tbsp. Dynasty Sesame Oil
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp. sour cream, room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 tsp. orange zest
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract

Honey Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish
  • Raspberries, for garnish
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Lightly grease an 8-inch round baking pan with nonstick cooking spray, line the pan with parchment paper, and spray the parchment.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl. Add both sugars and whisk until combined.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the milk, Dynasty Sesame Oil, eggs, sour cream, orange juice and zest, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Whisk until smooth and just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes.
  6. Invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Whip the heavy cream and honey until medium peaks form.
  8. Top the cake with powdered sugar and whipped cream and garnish with raspberries
